Math2Market is winner of the Technology Award "SUCCESS 2020: Vorsprung durch Innovation" of the Investitions- und Strukturbank (ISB) Rheinland-Pfalz
The "Investitions- und Strukturbank Rheinland-Pfalz" (ISB) awards this prize every year to small and medium-sized companies for exceptional technological innovations.
This year's SUCCESS 2020 Technology Awards were granted to the seven prize-winning companies by the State Secretary of the Ministerium for Economic Affairs of the Palatinate Region, Ms. Daniela Schmitt, and by Mr. Ulrich Dexheimer, Spokesman of the Management Board of the Investitions- und Strukturbank Rheinland-Pfalz (ISB), at an online award ceremony on October 29, 2020.

Math2Market was pleased to receive the award for technological innovations integrated in its GeoDict simulation software. These solutions are directly relevant for Digital Material R&D in the field of composite materials.
GeoDict starts with the analysis of composite materials on the microstructure level, even considering material features in the range of a few micrometer. Based on the critical influence of the microstructure, GeoDict can reliably predict the macroscopic material properties.
This approach is of particular importance in the development of composite materials, where the beneficial properties of various constituent materials are combined synergistically. This is because mechanisms that take place at the micro-level are responsible for the enormous lightweight construction potential of fiber-reinforced plastics.

What makes GeoDict unique for the development of composite materials?
GeoDict reproduces the complete development workflow in one single user-friendly software:
Import and analysis of CT-scans, generation of microstructures, analysis of material morphological properties, prediction of physical (e.g. permeability, electrical and thermal conductivity) and mechanical properties as well as mechanical simulation.
- In GeoDict, realistic fiber microstructures can be digitally generated.
- In GeoDict, the permeability of a fiber microstructure is simulated on the microstructure level, i.e. the digital model is resolved down to the single fiber. This function was developed within the Math2Composites research project together with the Institut für Verbundwerkstoffe (IVW), and reflects the highest scientific level in this field.
- In GeoDict, the mechanical properties of a composite material are predicted, and it is possible to simulate large deformations on large models with a high level of detail, down to the resolution of single fibers. GeoDict provides access to the latest state-of-the-art research through the application of the integrated voxel-based solver of the Fraunhofer ITWM.
