Recommended: 64-bit Intel® or AMD® Multi-Core (32 cores) processor
The use on multi-core systems with a lot of main memory enables efficient modelling and simulation of extremely large and therefore relevant morphologies.
Whether on single workstations with multi-core processors or over distributed computer systems with the Message Passing Interface (MPI) - you benefit from the scalability of GeoDict.
Recommended: Recent NVIDIA Graphics Card with 8 GB VRAM
The graphical user interface (GUI) of GeoDict requires a graphics card and an operating system that supports OpenGL 2. A graphics card from NVIDIA® with Cuda® Cores is needed for the following functionalities:
- Perform AI-segmentation with U-Net in ImportGeo Vol
- Use neural networks from FiberFind AI (identify fibers) and GrainFind AI (identify binder)
- Training of own neural networks for FiberFind AI and GrainFind AI with GeoDict AI
Recommended: 256 GB RAM or more
The available RAM determines the size of the structures which can be edited with GeoDict.
Required: 1 GB for the GeoDict installation
Recommended: At least 1 TB for the storage of simulation results
GeoDict itself requires about 1 GB of disk space. To be able to perform large experiments, such as filter life time experiments with FilterDict, or to store many results from different experiments, GeoDict needs more memory to store the result files.
GeoDict workstations are shipped with all required equipment, including external accessories needed for easy, safe, and reliable operation.
All three GeoDict systems include software maintenance (updates and support) for one year. For perpetual licenses, the maintenance period may be prolonged for an additional year after the initial period. For leased licenses, the lease period is identical with the maintenance period. During the maintenance period, the user is also entitled to participate in the yearly GeoDict User Meeting without registration fee cost.
The maintenance includes the lease of a GeoDict viewerlicense. This viewer-license enables the user to open, view, and inspect GeoDict simulation results on an additional computer during the maintenance period.
